Vacancy: Global Underwater Hub Programme Director

Opportunity North East (ONE) is recruiting a Programme Director to lead the development of the business case for a Global Underwater Hub on behalf of industry and partners.  The key objective of the role is to prepare and submit the business case to secure potential UK Government, Scottish Government and private sector funding which will ultimately progress the development of the Global Underwater Hub to support the UK‘s underwater / subsea industry international growth aims.

Reporting to the Director of ONE Oil, Gas and Energy and to an Industry Steering Group, and working in partnership with industry, public sector partners, government and the R&D community, the successful candidate will manage a programme of activity to develop a detailed business plan, determine the commercial and economic impacts and present the preferred option business case for the hub to both governments and industry by 1 February 2020.   With government funding secured, the hub will build on North East Scotland and the UK’s strengths in underwater / subsea engineering and growth ambitions.

The successful candidate should be commercially astute, a proven influencer, possess strong analytical and organisational capabilities, excellent communication skills and understand the underwater sector.

The position has an initial contract duration of 6 months with the potential to extend if government funding is secured for the implementation phase.”
