Celebrating one year of ONE Tech Hub

This week we celebrate one year since the opening of ONE Tech Hub, the home of digital tech and entrepreneurship in the North East of Scotland.

ONE Tech Hub is home to a number of key partners and has hosted over 200 events, with a programme of activity that encourages industry and businesses to connect with the best digital tech talent in the region to address specific challenges and opportunities.

In line with government advice, ONE Tech Hub remains closed and we continue to provide virtual support and events through our ONE Codebase offering as well as a range of events in conjunction with CodeBase Edinburgh details of upcming events are available here www.thisiscodebase.com/events. Virtual hotdesking, allows the ONE Codebase community to connect daily with each other on a Zoom channel for an hour to socialise. Morning Grind our popular monthly coffee meet up moved online in May, a short update is provided covering key issues followed by break out room networking.

Six ‘CodeBase on the couch’ webinars have taken place, attendees hear from a featured tenant from across the CodeBase ecosystem, as well as informational topics such as Creative Bridge covering skills including pitch writing and understanding product market fit. We also continue to share the support and events available through our partner Barclays Eagle Lab. One to one mentoring is available for start-up/scale up businesses or individuals exploring a start-up tech idea, this support is open to anyone who is starting, growing or even just considering a business idea. We continue to review the timing and our approach to re-open ONE Tech Hub against evolving government advice and will work to tailor our activity and support to meet the specific needs of the region, both in supporting existing companies at all stages in their growth journey and those interested in creating a new startup.

The door may be closed on our birthday, but the team continue to work hard to support and engage virtually with the community to help to prepare for the recovery and new opportunities that may present. We look forward to celebrating with the community when our doors open again.
