Revised OGA strategy | ONE

Commenting on the revised strategy from the Oil & Gas Authority submitted for laying in the UK parliament on 16 December 2020, Sir Ian Wood, Chair, Opportunity North East said:

"The Oil & Gas Authority’s revised strategy is a critical step to ensure the regulatory framework is in place to decarbonise North Sea oil and gas production, which is essential to the UK’s overall energy mix as we transition to net zero and maximise the sector’s contribution, particularly the acceleration of CCUS, hydrogen and wind.

"The OGA has accelerated and facilitated projects and promoted an integrated energy approach. This revised strategy will enable the regulator to take a much greater role to drive collaboration and action and support the industry in energy transition."
