Scottish supply chain companies can now propose solutions for drill cutting piles sampling as part of the offshore oil and gas decommissioning programme jointly developed by Opportunity North East (ONE) and Scottish Enterprise (SE).
The Scottish Government’s Just Transition Commission (JTC) report published last week recommends a large scale decommissioning programme is created with capital support to drive critical activity in the North Sea, maintain essential skills and position the North Sea infrastructure for a new integrated future. ONE and SE are partnering to support SMEs to target future decommissioning business and are working with 15 oil and gas operators on a series of project-specific opportunities. The programme enables SMEs to present their capabilities, skills and experience to operators for future projects and potentially benefit from business support.
The eighth decommissioning opportunity in the programme addresses drill cutting piles sampling. Operators, including opportunity champion Shell UK Limited, are looking for examples of proven successes and new innovative (technical and commercial) solutions to this cost challenge. SMEs must submit propositions by 4 September 2020.
