UKCS Data and Digital Maturity Survey

A key piece of research is launched today by OGUK, the leading representative body for the UK offshore oil and gas industry together with the Oil and Gas Authority’s (OGA) Technology Leadership Board, the Oil and Gas Technology Centre (OGTC), and Opportunity North East (ONE) to assess the pace and extent of digitalisation across the sector.

With support from Deloitte, the joint partners will use the first ever UKCS Data and Digital Maturity Survey to canvas companies, organisations and individuals on aspects including digital strategies, use of technology, data practices, capability and training, plus innovation processes used to develop a digital “idea” into a scalable reality.

While the survey will be distributed to members of the participating organisations, the project team is keen to encourage feedback from companies and individuals across the sector whatever their role, seniority or discipline and the survey will be open online until the deadline of June 16.

The output of the survey will help shape and develop a distinctive EnergyTech proposition, designed to bring new ways of thinking and working across the energy sector and in turn catalyse demand across our region’s digital companies.”

The survey should take no more than 15-30 minutes to complete. The anonymised data collected will be shared in confidence across all four participating organisations to help shape their respective initiatives in support of digitalisation with OGUK planning to use the findings as the basis of an industry workshop planned for September 2020.
