Provenance Festival to return in September 2024 | ONE

The 2024 festival will take place from Saturday 21 September to Sunday 29 September. In 2023, more than 50 businesses opened their doors to provide one-off, interactive behind-the-scenes experiences for visitors, with more than 100 events delivered during the 10-day festival.

Launched in 2021 by Opportunity North East (ONE) to grow food tourism in the region, Provenance Festival is now delivered by VisitAberdeenshire and ONE, supporting the key food and drink and tourism sectors and economic diversification across the North-east.

Visitors to this year’s festival will meet the people behind the brands and hear fascinating stories of the region’s pioneering food and drink businesses.

Peter Cook, director of food, drink and agriculture at ONE, said: “The festival is an opportunity for food and drink producers to connect in person with consumers, build brand visibility and share their passion and commitment for their products with existing and new customers. Last year’s programme saw more businesses than ever taking part and an increase in collaborations between producers and the hospitality sector. We want to build on that momentum this year and ensure that food tourism contributes to the growth and diversification of two key sectors of the region’s economy.”

The Provenance Festival team is taking part in a learning journey to meet the organisers of the Taste East Devon Festival. Spearheaded by TV chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, it is one of most established food festivals in the UK.

VisitAberdeenshire has received funding from the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund for this year’s Provenance Festival, administered locally by Aberdeenshire Council.
